OTC Enhancements
OTC Enhanced Functionality & Tap-To-Refill ordering
MedAdvisor is pleased to announce improved functionality for patients using non-prescription products.
Featuring enhanced management and product choices for patients and support for adding these items to Tap-To-Refill orders
For Patients
Now when a patient adds a non-prescription product to their account they are shown a catalogue of products
These are sorted into the following categories:
- Vitamins
- Pain
- Cold and Flu
- Allergy
- Digestive Health
- Eye and Ear
- Skin
- Other
Patients can browse through these to find products they wish to add to their account.
Alternatively, a patient may search for a product by using the search bar at the top of the screen which will search through Manufacturers, Categories, Product Names and Active Ingredients
If a patient cannot find the product they are looking for they can add a product manually by clicking Add Product at the bottom of the catalogues first page or at the bottom of their search results
When they add a non-prescription product to their account they can set that product's Supply Per Packet/Daily Dose to enable refill reminders increasing their adherence to these health products

Tap-To-Refill
Patients can now add non-prescription medications, vitamins and supplements to Tap-To-Refill orders.
These will appear in a similar manner to prescription medications within an order but also include the number of packets of this product the patient would like listed as: Quantity Ordered
You action these orders in the console the same way you would for prescription medications
If your pharmacy does not stock the specific brand the patient is requesting and you have a similar product, you can mark the item as Unable to Fill and add a custom message offering the different brand.
If your pharmacy does not wish to allow ordering of non-prescription products, you can disable it for your patients by disabling Allow OTC Orders in Pharmacy Details > Advanced within the MedAdvisor pharmacy console
