MedAdvisor Version 3.1

MedAdvisor 3.1 was released on the 29th of October.

MedAdvisor 3.1 is primarily a patient focused release, including a number of new features and enhancements to assist patients in managing their medication more effectively.

MedAdvisor Pharmacy Resources Area

Account Maintenance

Pharmacy staff are now able to maintain their Pharmacy Resources Area login details. The new Account menu option has been added to the left hand navigation pane within the Pharmacy Resources area. The following details can be updated:

  • Pharmacy Name
  • Contact Name
  • Email address (used to log in to the Pharmacy Resources Area)
  • Phone Number
  • Password Change

Please note that these details only relate to the Pharmacy Resource Area login credentials and are not published to the public. To update the pharmacy details which are visible within the MedAdvisor patient application, go to Update Details within the MedAdvisor Pharmacy Console.

Home Screen - Useful Information

The MedAdvisor Home screen how contains useful information including the MedAdvisor Support telephone number and email address as well as links to the latest Quick Start Guide and Carer Mode Consent Form.

Take-My-Med Enhancements

There have been further improvements to the Take-My-Meds functionality (available on MedAdvisor Android and iOS apps). Non-prescription medication or vitamins, which have been manually entered into MedAdvisor, can now be linked to Take-My-Med reminders.

Non-prescription medication or vitamins will be available for selection in the Linked Medicines screen, when creating an alert.

The linked medicines will appear on screen, when the alert it sounding.

Ability to Print

MedAdvisor now includes a series of Print buttons within the web browser version, making it easier to print key information. Screens with the ability to print include the Home screen, Medicine Information and the Tap-To-Refill confirmation page. Further details are found below:

Email Consolidation

MedAdvisor now consolidates Fill-My-Script or See-My-Doctor reminders transmitted via email. This means that if multiple reminders of either type are sent on the same day, these will be consolidated into just one email.

Medicine Details

Certain medications will now contain additional information within MedAdvisor. This additional information may come in the form of a brand logo (which will match the medication packaging) or device image (useful for inhalers) making it easier to identify different medication. Helpful usage tips and a link to additional information may also be included.

MedAdvisor can now send a series of messages relating to specific medications. These messages will provide more information about the condition being treated, and about the medication prescribed.

These messages can be turned off at any time by setting the Tips and Advice toggle switched (found under the message) to the 'Off' position.

Other Enhancements

  • A range of general bug fixes and performance enhancements have been incorporated.
  • The registration process for new users has been made more intuitive to assist users wishing to take advantage of Carer Mode.
  • Minor graphical changes have been made to a number of screens to improve usability.
