All APPOINT modules now within PlusOne’s Health Services Hub

Modules 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the APPOINT Program are now available within PlusOne’s Health Services Hub.

As a pharmacist, you have unique expertise, experience and patient access. Patients can present to you anytime and ask for health advice. Like GPs and specialists, the role of pharmacy is equally vital in addressing untreated, unmanaged fracture risk to prevent the serious consequences of osteoporosis.

Recognising the critical role that pharmacy plays in identifying and treating osteoporosis Amgen Australia has joined with PharmaPrograms to create the Amgen Pharmacy Partnership in Osteoporosis INTervention (APPOINT) Program with the aim of supporting pharmacies like yours to reduce osteoporotic fractures.

This Program enables pharmacists to play a greater role in osteoporosis treatment.

Pharmacies can be reimbursed for these routine professional services:

1. Screening assessment. Identify patients yet to be diagnosed with osteoporosis who are eligible for a DEXA bone density scan.

Your pharmacy receives: $12 per patient

2. Compliance measurement. Engage with non-compliant osteoporosis patients to understand their compliance issue

Your pharmacy receives $10 per patient

3. Re-engagement. Identify and re-engage patients who have lapsed treatment to understand reasons for discontinuation

Your pharmacy receives: $10 per patient

4. Education. Provide osteoporosis information to patients to empower them and keep them on track.

Your pharmacy receives: $40 per patient
